What is "The Ides of Trump" campaign all about? You may have seen the hashtags #theidesoftrump or #idesoftrump on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or elsewhere on social media.
The concept is simple: on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, Americans and others from around the globe will send Donald Trump a postcard which communicates our opposition to his policies, his words, and his actions.
Together, we will demonstrate to Mr. Trump, to the politicians who continue to support him, and to the world that we no longer wish for him to occupy the White House as President of the United States of America.
LET'S ALL STAND UP AND HAVE OUR VOICES HEARD!
A moment in history...and now you can own and proudly display a remembrance of this historic event, while at the same time contributing to the spreading of this movement. All net proceeds from your purchase (after vendor costs) will be distributed between the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and efforts to promote & raise awareness of the Ides of Trump event.
It can be as simple as: "Dear Mr. President, As a loyal American, I strongly oppose your policies, words, and actions. I, along with the majority of Americans, do not wish for you to continue on as President of the United States, and call for you to immediately resign from office." (It should go without saying that all such correspondence should be courteous and civil.)
Postage for a postcard is less than for a letter. Moreover, the ease and speed of handling of postcards, as opposed to letters in sealed envelopes, will ensure a more immediate delivery, with an inundation of postcards arriving at the White House promptly after their mailing on March 15. (Sending multiple postcards yourself is not encouraged: from an ethical standpoint, if you have an issue with misrepresentation of such things as inauguration turnout numbers, then you should want to ensure that the number of postcards sent is honestly reflective of a corresponding number of American citizens.)
